Smart Contract Escrow Framework
How cryptographic escrow on the BNB Smart Chain protects peer-to-peer crypto transactions.
Effective Date / Last Updated: September 2026
1. Overview of On-Chain Escrow
The LionexEscrow contract is deployed on the BNB Smart Chain Mainnet. When a seller accepts an order, their tokens are locked in the smart contract via a standard deposit function. Funds remain immobilized in the contract address until one of three cryptographic settlement paths is triggered:
- Release: Authorized by the seller (or certified relayer) upon confirmation of fiat receipt, delivering net crypto to the buyer and platform fees to the treasury.
- Refund: Authorized by the buyer (or arbiter upon timeout expiry) returning 100% of deposited tokens back to the seller.
- Dispute Resolution: Executed by multi-sig arbiters to allocate tokens in accordance with official bank clearing statements.
2. OpenZeppelin Security Standards
The smart contract inherits from OpenZeppelin’s ReentrancyGuard, Pausable, SafeERC20, and Ownable2Step contracts. Reentrancy attacks and unauthorized withdrawal attempts are blocked by automated revert assertions.
